However, BCCI had to increase the entire Rs 2 crore, not Rs 1 crore, for this post. According to a report in Cricbuzz, earlier the BCCI used to pay Rs 1 crore to the chief selectors. But Ajit Agarkar will get Rs 3 crore for taking over as national selector.

Former veteran bowler Ajit Agarkar was earlier a part of the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. He was playing his role as a bowling coach for Delhi Capitals along with head coach Rickin Ponting.
