Delhi’s batting starts
Delhi Capitals open the batting against Gujarat Titans. Captain David Warner and Prithvi Shaw come to the crease. Mohammed Shami opened the bowling for Gujarat.
Gujarat got its first success
The first success for Gujarat Titans was given by Mohammed Shami. He dismissed Prithvi Shaw on the fourth ball of the third over. Prithvi returned to the pavilion after scoring seven runs off five balls. Alzarri Joseph took his catch. Mitchell Marsh came to the crease after Prithvi’s dismissal. Delhi had scored 29 runs for one wicket in three overs.
Mitchell Marsh failed in the second match as well
Delhi Capitals got another blow in the form of Mitchell Marsh. He was clean bowled by Mohammed Shami on the second ball of the fifth over. Marsh could only score four runs off four balls with the help of a four. Marsh could not even open the account against Lucknow Super Giants in the previous match.
Gujarat got double success
Alzarri Joseph gave double success to Gujarat. He clean bowled Delhi captain David Warner on the second ball of the ninth over. Warner returned to the pavilion after scoring 37 off 32 balls. He hit seven fours. Riley Russo was dismissed on the very next ball after Warner. He could not handle the bouncy ball of Alzarri Joseph. The ball hit his bat and went towards point. Rahul Tewatia dived forward and took a brilliant catch. Sarfaraz Khan and Abhishek Porel were at the crease. Delhi’s score was 70 for four in nine overs.
Delhi’s 100 runs completed
Delhi Capitals’ 100 runs were completed. He had scored 100 runs for four wickets in 12 overs. Sarfaraz Khan was playing 17 off 20 balls and Abhishek Porel was playing 20 off 10 balls.
Delhi got the fifth blow
Rashid Khan gave the fifth blow to Delhi Capitals. He clean bowled Abhishek Porel on the second ball of the 13th over. Porel scored 20 runs off 11 balls. He hit two sixes in his innings. Sarfaraz Khan and Akshar Patel were at the crease.
Sarfaraz Khan out
Rashid Khan gave the sixth blow to Delhi Capitals. He dismissed Sarfaraz Khan on the second ball of the 17th over. Sarfaraz got out after scoring 30 runs off 34 balls. He hit two fours. Delhi had scored 132 runs for six wickets in 17 overs. Akshar Patel 18 and Aman Hakim Khan were playing by scoring one run.
Delhi made a respectable score
Delhi Capitals somehow managed to score 162 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs despite continuous setbacks. Gujarat had got a target of 163 runs to win. For Delhi, captain David Warner scored 37 off 32 balls and vice-captain Akshar Patel scored 36 off 22 balls. Sarfaraz Khan was dismissed for 30 and Abhishek Porel scored 20 runs. Only four batsmen in 10 could cross the figure of ten. Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan bowled killers for Gujarat Titans. Both took three wickets each. Alzarri Joseph got two successes.
First blow to Gujarat
Enrich Nortje gave the first blow to Gujarat Titans. He clean bowled Wriddhiman Saha on the first ball of the third over. Saha scored 12 runs off seven balls. Sai Sudarshan came to bat after his dismissal.
Second blow to Gujarat
Enrich Nortje also gave the second blow to Gujarat Titans. This time he made Shubman Gill his victim. Shubman got clean bowled on the first ball of the fifth over. He scored 14 runs off 13 balls with the help of three fours. Gujarat scored 49 runs for two wickets in five overs. Sai Sudarshan was unbeaten on 13 and captain Hardik Pandya scored five runs.
Hardik Pandya returned to the pavilion
Khaleel Ahmed brought great success to Delhi Capitals. He dismissed Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya on the last ball of the sixth over. Hardik was caught behind the wicket by Abhishek Porel. The Gujarat captain could only manage five runs off four balls.
10 overs of Gujarat’s innings ended
10 overs of Gujarat Titans’ innings come to an end. He scored 83 runs for three wickets. Sai Sudarshan was unbeaten on 32 and Vijay Shankar on 15. Gujarat needed 80 runs off 60 balls to win.
Vijay Shankar returned to the pavilion
Mitchell Marsh gave the fourth blow to Gujarat Titans. He lbw Vijay Shankar on the second ball of the 14th over. Shankar got out after scoring 29 runs off 23 balls. He shared a 53-run partnership off 44 balls with Sai Sudarshan for the fourth wicket. Gujarat scored 107 runs for four wickets in 13.2 overs. He had to score 56 runs off 40 balls to win.
Gujarat score 137/4 in 16 overs
Gujarat Titans scored 137 runs for four wickets in 16 overs. He had to score 26 runs in four overs to win. Sai Sudarshan was unbeaten on 47 and David Miller on 21.
