The Women Premier League Auction (WPL) has an auction in Mumbai today. The first edition of WPL will be organized from March 4 to 26 this year. Players will be auctioned for the first time on the lines of IPL, in which 409 players have been shortlisted. Out of these only 90 players will be auctioned. That is, a team can have a maximum of 18 players.

Many players can get huge amount from this auction and many poor players can also become rich. BCCI is organizing this league. This league will be organized from March 4 to 26. Players from Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Zimbabwe including India are included while eight players are from Associate countries UAE, Hong Kong, Thailand, Netherlands and USA in Women Premier League Auction.

Auction will be like this
- Each team will have Rs 12 crore to buy players in the auction.
- A maximum of 90 players will be selected along with 30 foreign players.
- A team can have a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 18 players.
- A franchise can form its team from 18 players. There will be 12 Indian and six foreign players in this.
- Up to 5 foreign players can be included in the playing XI but the fifth foreign player should be from an Associate country.
- India’s Latika Kumari, 41, is the oldest player in this auction.
- The 3 players Shabnam, Sonam Yadav and Vinny Sujan are 15 years old and the youngest players in the auction.
- A total of 22 matches will be played in WPL.
- 409 players have fixed their respective base prices of Rs 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 lakhs.
Women auctioneer will be there in WPL auction
The Women Premier League Auction will begin at 2:30 pm today at the Jio World Convention Center in Bandra-Kurla Complex. For this, taking a historic step, the BCCI has selected a woman auctioneer. According to media reports, the board has selected Mumbai’s Malika Advani for this responsibility.
Women’s Premier League auction begins
The auction of the Women’s IPL, which is also being called the Women’s Premier League, has started. Shibani Akhtar, wife of actor-director Farhan Akhtar, is currently hosting the show.
